ActuallyActually / VERY Wooonderland x Zxerokool Japan relief tote bag

March 27th, 2011

ActuallyActually
(The Same folks behind the VERY Woooderland store at ION Orchard) have teamed up with Zxerokool to create an artist series tote bag, proceeds will go to Mercy Relief’s Aid for Japan’s earthquake and tsunami efforts. To be launched soon. Other artists include Eeshaun, Mode and Bjorn Yeo. About the artwork:

“Bonsai tree cultivation is a Japanese tradition that dates back over a thousand years. I used a visual of the bonsai to represent the creativity and resilience of the Japanese people. The tiled graphical squares juxtaposed against the image of a bonsai tree, reflects the way the Japanese often use technology to their advantage in overcoming the constraints of their natural surroundings and circumstances.”

Project: Actually’s “Project Nippon” Bags

Sometimes, shopping is not always a guilt trip. What if it were for a good cause? By now, it is no secret that Japan is in dire straits and in need of all the help they can get. ACTUALLY is doing its bit to help contribute to this cause. We have designed a special tote bag made of Tyvek – a material that combines the best characteristics of paper, film, and fabric in one – with the help of 4 artists who graciously contributed their individual artworks for the design of the bags. Also, this is our first collaboration with Zxerokool and Mode. The totes will be sold for $10 at ACTUALLY…, ActuallyActually and VERY Wooonderland from the 8th of April 2011. All proceeds from the sale of the bags will go into Mercy Relief’s Aid for Japan. However inexpensive it may be to the buyer, the amount of help that extends to Japan will be invaluable.
