Dolphin’s Revenge / Stencil, paint and markers on canvas. / 50 cm x 40 cm

For the group art show entitled “HitchHiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Art Inspired by the film” each participating artist was invited to render an interpretation of the movie through a piece of artwork. I decided to focus my attention on the Dolphins, which are portrayed in a rather bizarre way in the film; they apparently predict the end of the world and fly into space at some point. While I was thinking about this concept I heard a news report that some group was trying to ban tuna because of over-fishing. Being a sashimi addict and thus probably responsible for the deaths of many species of fish, I thought it would be interesting to create a fictional / parody styled visual about a world gone mad: where Dolphins are exacting revenge on man by seducing our women…
